Parenting That Works!
Parenting That works program offers parent education classes through the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting program (S.T.E.P.). The S.T.E.P course is a highly effective program providing parents with a systematic sequenced program that is offered in 7-week sessions. PTW offers three types of parenting classes that target different ages. The Young Child focuses on children 0 to 6. The Middle Child focuses on children ages 7-13 years, and the Teen Child focuses on children 14-20 years. A grand parents class is offered for Grandparents raising grandchildren.
What you will learn by taking a S.T.E.P. class:
Natural and logical consequences within limits you the parents establish, are the disciplinary tools you use instead of punishment and rewards. Children are given limited choices and learn to be responsible for their actions which takes you the parent out of the role of being the "bad guy". What a relief! There is an underlying cause to misbehavior and this parenting approach assists parents in understanding what is motivating their children's behavior and provides positive ways to influence cooperation and good behavior.
